Australia is planning to offer five additional points to the students of Australian institutes. These additional points will be offered to the students with post-graduate of master’s degree in STEM and ICT fields. The change will come in to effect by 10th of September this year. The reason behind bringing this change is to attract and retain the best and brightest skilled personnel in Australia. The change is the part of visa changes which was brought under the National Innovation and Science Agenda.
Australia has also launched a new visa for budding entrepreneurs from different parts of the world. The applications for this entrepreneur visa are being accepted now under Business Innovation and Investment Programme. The requirement of the entrepreneur visa is that the candidate must possess the required fund that is $200,000 is required for funding from any specified third party in order to develop and use their innovative ideas in the country. This visa provides a medium to Permanent Residency to Australia.
The eligibility requirements for Entrepreneur visa are:
•Should be within the age of 55 years
•Must be competent in English
•Must have the agreement of $200,000 for investing and growing their enterprise in Australia
•Should hold atleast 30% of the venture
•Or should be nominated by the state or national government
