Pankaj Saran, the Indian Ambassador to Moscow stated that there will be an announcement related to mutual simplification of the process of entry for tourists by the parties involved in the Russian-Indian Summit which is going to be held in Goa in October this year.
He asserted this announcement as ‘Interfax’, and said, “in the near future we are going to make an announcement on the facilitation of tourist trips between Russia and India. It will be made during the summit in Goa”.
There were no specifications mentioned by him regarding what will be the specific process to simplify the visa regime. Previously Oleg Safonov, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency stated that there is a plan of India and Russia to discuss on the prospects of a visa-exempt group tourist visits. This was confirmed by Mr. Saran and he said that this issue has already been discussed by the parties.
The meeting is planned to be held on October 15 where the leaders of India and Russian are going to participate in the Indian State of Goa, and it is going to be conducted before the BRICS summit.
