OTOAI is pushing the UKVI to ease 10 year visa norms

OTOAI is pushing the UKVI to ease 10 year visa norms

The Outbound Tours Operators Association of India (OTOAI), is trying hard to force UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) department to release the norms related to 10- year visa for passport of Indian immigrants. The fee for 10-year visa is also high which is over INR 70,000, and around only300 visas are issued annually from India. The immigrants are restraining themselves to migrate to UK due to additional charges involved with UK visa.

As per the President of OTOAI Gurdeep Singh Sahni, “the time and money involved in getting the 10-year UK visa is a big hassle. Our association has been following up with UKVI to ease the process which would in turn benefit the destination as well”.He opinedthat easing the norms associated with 10-yesr UK visa would not only benefit Indian immigrants but also to UK. The members of OTOI had been to London to raise this issue in front of UKVI.

The Vice President of OTOAI, RiazMunshi, supported the OTOAI team for endorsing the familiarisation visit to Turkey from September 15-24, 2016, in the recent meeting of OTOAI member which was held in the Habitat Centre, New Delhi, in relation with Turkish Indian Tourism Council (TITC). He also mentioned that, “a lot of homework has gone into planning of this FAM tour. I am thankful to our members who have come forward in support of TITC and Turkey as a travel destination.

The President revealed the dates of pre-FAM and post-FAM tours which is planned to be organised in the month of September, pre-FAM from 15-18 September and post –FAM from 21-24th September. He also mentioned that from 18-21 of September there will be B2B meets organised with Turkish traders. So he mentioned that registrations are open for the same.

In the OTOAI meet, the members were facilitated with a session of GST in provision with Ernst and Young. A presentation on GST was presented by Aseem Arora who is the Senior Manager at Tax and Regulatory Services in Ernst and Young (E&Y). And Mr. Singh, will address the issues related to GST bill and assured that OTOAI will meet the members from The Ministry of Finance for the same.
